THE ELECTRIC DREAM – RACING FOR THE PLANET

As Extreme E’s live events partner, we are lucky enough to have been a part of their journey from the very beginning when we produced the Global Race Series Launch back in 2019.

Fast forward to 2021 and the team have designed, produced and delivered a unique, touring VIP hospitality experience ‘The Explorer Lounge’, which will travel onboard the St Helena, the series floating paddock to the five remote and damaged race locations. Our creative design of the overall interior and exterior fit was inspired and reflected by Extreme E’s core values of ‘Racing for the planet’. This bespoke built, 25m x 25m stretch tent structure, features multiple lounge and dining areas for up to 100 guests, complete with bespoke fabricated bars, catering stations, DJ booth and dance floor made from all recycled materials.

The biggest challenge was to design and build something that could withstand the Desert, Ocean, Arctic, Rainforest and Glacier terrains but also being as sustainable and as tourable as possible during the COVID-19 global pandemic.

For the inaugural Desert X Prix in the breathtaking location of Al Ulah in the Saudi Arabian desert, the Explorer Lounge was expanded to include a terrace and restaurant for the 250 visiting guests. Visitors not only enjoyed the racing from the multiple screen options but also from the stunning terrace overlooking the track action and vast landscape. We look forward to the challenge of the next race on the beaches and shores of Lac Rose in Senegal and then onto Greenland, Brazil before heading to the final of the most southern tip of the world, Ushuaia.
