Ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Velocity put forward a concept to Formula 1 and FIFA to celebrate the countdown of this great sporting event, and what better place to do this than at the inaugural Formula 1 race in Qatar.
To ensure both sporting giants and their associated brands approved, a simple penalty shootout was created, featuring F1 drivers and football legends. The shootout was hosted on the start finish straight, in front of a live audience and was captured across TV broadcast and social media.
The football activation also extended into 3 areas of the fan zone for fans to enjoy across the race weekend.
As well as delivering the creative ideas and planning of the stunt, Velocity were also onsite to oversee the management of the activity live on the grid.
Since 2021, The Velocity team have been designing, building and producing all of the official hospitality spaces at the British Grand Prix for Match Hospitality, and before this for Silverstone Circuit directly.
